I thought I was going to be a special education teacher for life. Teaching was the only profession I had ever done, and leaving to find a better work life balance didn't seem possible, especially with all of the college, hard work, and time put into my career.

Not knowing where to start when looking for a new job, no less a new career altogether, I started applying to any and every job with my "teacher" resume. Needless to say I got rejection after rejection.
